Damask Roses are a medium-sized heavy blooms. Once in bloom, these roses stay intact for several weeks (our personal best has been 8 weeks!) before wilting. Each plant produces multiple blooms, usually in groups of 2 and 3. The plant flowers every couple of weeks in the bloom season (starting late spring through early monsoons and sometimes well up to winters in India).
Rose plants can be easily grown in any type of soil but need good organic fertilization to grow and produce blooms.
Care Guide
Light
Place in bright sunlight if available. Best kept in balconies, sunny windows or a garden. In hot summers, placing in partial shade is preferable.
Watering
Monsoon: Water the plants 1-2 times a week if kept in a dry area. If receiving direct rainfall, check if soil is wet and reduce the frequency. Do not over water.
Summer: Water every alternate day.
Winter: Water 2 times a week. Always water the soil, not the stems of plant.
Fertilizer Feed
Mix 2 spoons of organic fertiliser once a month in the soil or 1 spoon every 2 weeks.
Pest Control
Check weekly for pests. If using insecticide, pour 6 drops in 1 litre of water and spray the solution on affected areas only. If using Eucalyptus or Neem oil, pour 1 teaspoon in 1 litre of water and then spray on affected areas only.
